Combining two of the Cultural Triangle’s most iconic sites, this tour includes the cave temples of Dambulla and the rock fortress of Sigiriya in a single, well-organised day. The climb to Sigiriya’s summit rewards the effort with sweeping views and ancient frescoes, while Dambulla’s caves hold some of the island’s finest Buddhist murals. We recommend an early start to beat both the heat and the crowds at Sigiriya. Moderate fitness is needed for the Sigiriya climb, which involves stairs and some exposed sections.
